Pennypack Farm is a wonderful CSA located in Horsham, Pa. They offer so many varieties of veggies to their members and manage to educate us at the same time. It’s nice to know where my food comes from! The children’s programs are hands on and what kid doesn’t like digging a little dirt? Happy to be a member!

Pennypack Farm is such a wonderful community. I’ve been a member for six years, and the variety, quantity, and quality of produce can’t be beat. I love taking my kids to pick our own green beans and cherry tomatoes, and the greens through the winter are amazing. This isn’t a CSA where you’re left with pounds of beets (though the red and golden beets — including the greens — are top-notch). I love the lettuce, potatoes, kale, squash, cucumbers, and tomatoes, but also veggies I haven’t tried otherwise, like celeriac, salad turnips, and tatsoi. Oh, and the strawberries in June will make you never want a grocery store strawberry again. Be warned.

Summer shares run June-November and require volunteer time, or a donation. Volunteering on the farm has really enriched my experience. The farmers are so kind and knowledgeable, and I’ve built a community of folks I see each week. You can also add on a cut-your-own flower share for the summer, providing a gorgeous bouquet each week. Winter shares run November-March and include an amazing variety of food, from Napa cabbage to butternuts and winter spinach and lettuce.

I have been a member of three other CSA's and what I love about this one is the choice! "Shopping" in the store room is always fun and I love the perks and affordable add-ons like the Fruit and the Flowers! The optional volunteer hours also have taught me a lot!

We've been members for 5 years and absolutely love it. We get a mini share, which is just perfect for my husband and I. The selection of vegetables is amazing - I love being able to pick which ones I want every week, and there's always something new to try in addition to all the staples I need. There's opportunities to go pick veggies or fruits from the field - doesn't get fresher than that! This is a great non-profit organization to support.
