Customer Experience and Recommendations

\n

Visitor Feedback Highlights

\n

Phillips Farms enjoys a positive reputation among its visitors, reflected in the 218 Google My Business reviews they have received, averaging an impressive 4.5 out of 5. The majority of feedback highlights several key aspects of their experience.

\n\n

Many visitors describe their visit as a \"fun excursion\" and a \"great family activity\". The act of harvesting your own fruits is often cited as inherently rewarding and enjoyable. Travelers specifically mention \"tasty\" and \"fresh-tasting\" fruits, with berries being a particular favorite. The farm's atmosphere is frequently described as welcoming and pleasant.

\n\n

Important Considerations for Visitors

\n

While the experience is generally positive, some visitor feedback offers practical advice for making the most of your visit. Comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes are essential, as picking requires walking on fields and potentially uneven ground.

\n\n

    \n

  • Plan for the weather: Remember that field picking involves significant walking outdoors. Many reviews, including one prominent experience, advise against visiting during the hottest parts of the day or in direct afternoon sun, as the walking can become quite warm and strenuous. Visiting in the cooler morning or early afternoon is often recommended for comfort.
  • \n

  • Manage expectations for certain fruits: Some reviews suggest that the layout for multi-fruit farms can be challenging, especially for beginners or those seeking a quick harvest. One detailed comment highlighted the potential distance between different berry patches (e.g., blueberries, cherries) and recommended starting with closer or preferred fruits (like strawberries or raspberries in this case) to conserve energy.
  • \n

\n\n

It's also worth noting that the specific experience can vary slightly depending on the time of year and which specific fruits are currently in season. Strawberries are often available earlier and are a common favorite. Always check the farm's website or contact them directly for the most current information on seasonal offerings and operating details.

\n\n

Fun excursion to pick your own fruits. We went to both locations. The strawberry fields were a much easier walk than the farm with 3 fruits for sure. If you are sensitive to heat, don't go in the afternoons because the walk is almost fully in the sun. We did not make it to the raspberries because starting with blueberries at the bottom, followed by what felt like a half mile to the cherries up and around then down again was too much in one day. Fruits are tasty and we all have been enjoying them since.

I picked cherry and raspberry yesterday. There are two rows of cherry trees which are best for picking, at the end of the field. The cherries are big and sweet! 8.95 per pound with $5 minimum. You can bring your own basket or purchase there for $2.75. Highly recommend visiting for fresh and delicious cherries and a great day out.

We had a great time with our 2 kids (3&5).
The location is beautiful and maintained well and clean. No entrance fee but each should buy minimum $5 fruits. It’s not posted as don’t eat while picking and I guess it is okay to eat as anyway we see lot of fruits are fallen after spoiling in the tree itself.
You might feel the fruits are little expensive than the market value, but don’t forget the worth of time you spend enjoying the pick your own 😊
They have plenty of options as blue berries, raspberries, variety of peaches, green apples, currants, etc
Also they have fresh vegetables in their shop.

I think this is the best pick your own farm in New Jersey. I've been to quite a few of them including Alstede. But some of these farms charge an arm and a leg just for coming there and I was getting tired like many other people of paying such high prices just to do a little picking. This farm does not charge you for coming over and has very reasonable prices including for their containers. Today I picked more of their incredible blueberries and now this is my second time coming here to get those blueberries. Yes they are that good. I also picked some amazing peaches and more of the sweet cherries. Also, this is one of the most beautiful farms you will absolutely love coming here!
They also have some unusual things for picking like pink currants. I didn't like how they tasted but I'm sure they're good for something lol I also tried some gooseberries. Lots of interesting things here! I'm a big fan of the cider that they offer. They have an apple cider slush and today they even had a raspberry slush which was very tasty.

Ugh such a beautiful farm. My family and I came from nyc and it was such a wonderful experience. It’s hugeeeeeee and everyone working on the farm was lovely and welcoming. The Asian pairs were delicious, they were perfect. The salsa they sold by the cash register was bought on a whim and probably the best decision I made there. I was bummed out that by the time I was paying the donuts were sold out! Please have a lot more next time. This farm is definitely worth visiting especially if you don’t want to be around too much people. We spent more than 2 hours at Phillips Farm and only saw like 1/3 of the farm. We loved it!! You need to get on the truck ride you will get a stunning view of the fields in the farm. I will come back soon πŸ™‚

The best pick your own farm in New Jersey. I was looking for a new farm to check out this year, after being fed up with having to pay to pick at other places, and other farms charging an arm and a leg.

When I saw that I could pick raspberries here, I was sold. We went one weekend, and were amazed at how welcoming, friendly, and uncrowded it was. This place is a hidden gem!

The raspberries were absolutely delicious, and prices are amazing! I brought my own containers and they even weighed them to ensure I didn't get charged for anything but the berries I picked.

We also decided to try picking peaches for the first time, which was a lot of fun!

Prices are so reasonable, and I love how you can bring in your own containers or pick up really cheap ones here for your pickings. This is definitely going to be my new New Jersey farm, and I'll be visiting every season!

Awesome time! They have such a variety of stuff to pick. And the staff is extremely friendly. They do a good job of keeping signs around. Only thing that may help are some of those Ike big maps you see at ski resorts with the you are here but we had a wonderful afternoon picking fruit. Prices are reasonable unlike some other pick your own places. 10/10 recommended and will come back.
