This is a hole in the wall local place that was great. We were touring the big island and found this place on google and just had to check it out.

I had the tacos and the wife had a grilled sandwich. Her lunch came with macaroni salad and house made pickles. Seating is outside at picnic tables and there were chickens to entertain us while we waited for our food to be prepared.

We saw several locals eating there so it is definitely a local dining spot.

Delicious! We found this place while taking the “scenic route” during a trip around the island. I highly recommend you stop in and try their food. I got the special which was a chicken salad wrap and my wife got the chicken salad on a hoagie. Both were delicious. Place is clean and service was fast.

A great spot for some good food! Staff are friendly and helpful. Keep in mind that the store and the restaurant/food are separate businesses. They accept credit cards.

Get the Kimchi REUBEN! So good! This place is the real deal if you are looking for a small family owned restaurant making everything by hand. Plus it’s a beautiful drive to get there.

The Cuban is amazing. The patio has a nice atmosphere and a cat who came by to hangout for lunch. I think he knows the schedule, but he was a welcome addition to our party.

Best macaroni salad I've ever had. I'd plan another trip just for that alone. Sandwiches are awesome and pickles are 10 out of 10. Im a pickle guy, pickled anything, and these were top shelf. Take the time to stop and get some great food. Very friendly staff, made us feel welcome and we wish we could get weekly air shipments of that macaroni here in WA.

OH my god the best sandwiches I've EVER had in my life. Amazing atmosphere and views and perfectly worth it. Go there instead of anywhere else in Hilo. No words for how good it was.

We visited the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Gardens, and on the way out, we found Piilani Kitchen and stopped for lunch. It was the perfect day. We highly recommend the Kimche Reuben Panini and the Birria Queso Beef Panini. These sandwiches were the best food we've had on the island, so far...excellent! Their mac salad and homemade pickles are great, too. We topped it all off with a refreshing and delicious Onomea Sunrise Smoothie. Again, I highly recommend them! I only got a photo of the smoothie...we ate the sandwiches too fast 😀
