Pioneer chicken is a classic fried chicken quick stop restaurant. The chicken is made to order and always crispy and very tasty. The fries are tasty of course since they're fried in the tasty oil being used. The spicy rice is good, spicy, and has chunks of shredded chicken in it. When you step inside, if you're old enough to remember, this is what small restaurants felt like in the 80s. If you think the other fast food chicken restaurants around are good and worth your money, you haven't been to Pioneer chicken. Because one visit here and you'll never go anywhere else.

Better than other fried chicken establishments regardless of if they're restaurants or fast food.
The crispy chicken has the same bite / crispy texture as Trenchers fish & chips at Whitby on the North Sea coast of England; in my humble opinion. :g

I thought pioneer excellent food chicken fried ,I tell you honestly worse chicken fried of pioneer ,not same previous old time ?, too dry fried look pic, potatoes mash with gravy awful !,coleslaw very bland flavor nothing last one biscuit too dry D R Y look from Hawaiian bread.,I will never come back pioneer chicken ? ? ? ? ? ?

This was the best fried chicken that I've had in a while. It was so crispy and juicy. The biscuits were so soft and melted in your mouth. I was expecting brown gravy for the mash potatoes, but when we received the chicken gravy, it was a wonderful surprise and tasted great as a dipping sauce. Will be back!! Thank you for the great experience ?

The chicken was excellent. The batter is similar to that of fish and chips. It was extremely crispy and the chicken very juicy. Sides are good enought. Biscuit not dry either.

Classic fried chicken restaurant that still exists! Great fried chicken and sides. Their biscuits taste like a mixture of biscuits and cake which was interesting and tasty! The interior is outdated but has that nostalgic feel. Worth a visit!

I grew up on Pioneer Chicken and it's been years since I've had. Wanted to go for nostalgic reasons. I got the 2 piece meal with a breast, wing and 2 sides, mashed potatoes and coeslaw. It was delicious and all that for under $10. Tables were clean and service was great. It was awesome to enjoy a place from the past!

We love Pioneer Chicken. We've been 2xs in a month, and we live in Sacramento!! We wish they'd come back to Sac. The spicy rice is delicious! The chicken is the same as when we were kids. Very friendly. The food is always fresh and smokin' hot!
