I never knew this place was in Jersey City so I was excited to try it. I called in my order with this really nice young lady. I ordered the Zak Wrap and it came to $12 and some change. I wanted a side of fries but they didn't have french fries. When I arrived I found parking in front of the restaurant. When I walked in the restaurant looked real Earthy and you could tell it was a vegan spot. They also had small grocery items they sold. I told another nice young lady I was there to pick up and my name and I paid. The customer service there is very good. When I left and went home, I ate and the wrap was tasty. The mac and cheese needed a little more salt but everything else was good. I would definitely be back for more.

My favorite spot ON EARTH! Zero waste market and vegan cafe, need I say more? Yes.. The food is fresh made from scratch and unforgettable. I just wished I lived closer but I travel for good vegan food and always crave these delicious creations. I discovered today they are now a non-profit with a community center/outdoor garden and free community fridge to fight food insecurity in their community. Inspiring 🙌 Makes me even more happy to support ! Kudos chefs. Please open up one near me.

Stopped in here after looking for local vegan restaurants near the Liberty State Park that my guy and I were visiting. Plant Base is less than 2 miles from the park. I liked that they had a small outdoor seating area, but I forgot to take a pic of it. I was very hungry and just wanted to get inside to place my order. The place is nice and clean. They have many of the fresh produce items (much of which is organic) that they use in their meals and drinks in carts in the center of the restaurant in a cute rustic fashion. They also sell dry beans, seeds, spices, oats, and the like... I didn’t search that area long, because the focus was on placing my order, though I did get a picture. We both ordered the 3 for $10 tacos as they were highly recommended by a couple who sat not far from the register. I got the Oto Taco, which is with pulled mushrooms, and he got the Bex Mex, which is a walnut chorizo and taste each other’s taco. We were both very pleased with our tacos. (Though he said he likes mine better and I liked his better. Isn’t that always how it goes? Lol) The tacos were very messy due to all of the sauce, but delicious nonetheless. Definitely not a complaint.
Water and any fresh pressed juice you order (I got the Green Juice) is served in small mason jars. Oh, about the juice... If you like yours really cold you may not want it. We asked for ice for ours and was told that they don’t offer ice, because they feel that consuming cold beverages isn’t good for the body. I know nothing about this, so we just accepted our room temp water and juice. It was actually very delicious, but I really would have liked my juice to have been a bit colder. I will definitely visit the place again when I am in the area, to try more food off of the menu, just maybe not the juice.
Oh! I forgot to mention that you will not get paper plates or plastic eating utensils here while dining here. We were offered and were given cloth napkins and real (you know, the kind that you buy for your home) eating utensils. The hot sauce that we asked for was also served in a small mason jar. I really love and appreciate their zero waste philosophy. Their customer service was also very good. The staff was very friendly and checked with us to make sure that we were comfortable and enjoying the food. Without a doubt I would go back.

We just love this place! The dishes there are delicious and the people there are super nice. When we saw a dish that belonged to a worker, we asked the workers there what it was called, they not only kindly told us what it was, but also let us try a piece! We will be happy to come back.

Loved it! Everyone was so friendly, and I'm always psyched to support a small zero-waste vegan spot! Forget the name of the tacos I got, but would 120% come back again to get them!

A friend asked me to drop off some coffee grounds to @plantbasemarket and I found a vegan jewel here in Jersey City. I have a very big appreciation and admiration for a true vegan place that does things old school also. This place is nonprofit and they give out free organic food from a refrigerated unit in front. U can literally just walk up, grab a few veggies and be on your way. I wish I had known about this place when I was homeless.

The Bex Mex taco was really good. Really cool down to earth hip vibes. Ordered the pizza but still waiting as I write this review. Will update when I try it.
UPDATE: Had the pizza, the J.Tripper, and it was ok. Not my thing but was still tasty. The Power Smoothie is good though. Will love to return to try the other options. So far a good find for vegans here in JC.

Such amazing people and the energy is just Right and Exact. Def recommend folks to come by and check out the food here and tham come through on Friday Nights for a Drum Circle with such a dope crowd of Folks.
