Justin and his team did a great job at relocation our old concrete pond and replacing with a new improved pond with a liner. The work was professional and fast. I'll admit that I was a bit hesitant on what our pond less waterfall would turn out to be, without a design or drawing, but Justin wins the gold medal! His vision continued to evolve as he started our project, and it turned out wonderful. He and his partner were on time every day, cleaned up every day, and their attention to detail was excellent. Justin Wood, owner of Pond and Permaculture Design, is such a rare find in the Tucson/Oro Valley area that I just want to tell the world about him. I felt like I found a hidden gem in the desert.

My neighbor had used him to reconstruct her many-tiered waterfall/pond and the landscape surrounding it. Being in her yard after Justin had creatively rebuilt it was like being in paradise. When I was there, I never wanted to leave—it was so beautifully designed and landscaped. I knew I wanted that feeling in my own yard and couldn’t wait to meet with Justin.

Upon meeting him, I immediately knew that this young man absolutely loved what he was doing and was no ordinary "landscaper." His creativity and passion for taking my ideas and developing them into a "work of art" right in my own backyard became evident as we were talking. There was no doubt in my mind that he would use his vast knowledge of permaculture and pair it with his extraordinary design skills to create the yard of my dreams. And that’s exactly what he did.

He strategically planned the perfect time to begin work with winter quickly approaching, knowing exactly what to plant and when to plant it, and what had to wait for warmer spring weather. And then there’s my beautiful waterfall/pond that he built, rock by rock, stone by stone, that he will adorn with vegetation in the spring, along with a beautiful passion fruit evergreen vine along the entire back wall. Along with having edible plants in my yard (my own "mini-farm"), I also dreamed of having a cottage garden, which he so creatively designed as a "secret garden." It’s just beautiful!

Thanks to Justin and his conscientious, knowledgeable team, my yard has become the backyard paradise that I now have a hard time leaving. It’s so serene and natural, looks amazing, smells so wonderfully fragrant and provides everything I’ve dreamed about.

I brought out 3 contractors to quote our needs to rebuild complete our disappearing birding stream. Of those I didn't realize one wasn't R.O.C. licensed so they were out of course. The other two were licensed and of those two Justin Wood was clearly the most on site professional. As a state licensed contractor myself, I know what that looks like.

Justin understood our vision and was prompt with his contract. He showed up personally on the job to work it and make sure all went well. Between him and his help they stayed on task until the project was complete. I think the only thing that wasn't spot on was his supplier for gravel and the color we got to supplement the existing in the area. In the future I would suggest using Dorado rock....they are typically on target and respond well.
