The store is small but manages to have a diverse array of products such as chocolate bars, nuts covered in chocolates, ice creams, etc. There are no samples for the bars (the other chocolate shop across the street offers plenty of samples to try their products). I didn't like the taste of the bar that I bought, it's too creamy, light on chocolate flavors and I can't taste the nuts. I did like the chocolate-covered nuts.

Such a cute little chocolate shop!! I should've asked for the person's name behind the counter cause they were so nice!! I loved hearing how they make all the chocolate from the cocoa bean and I found that really interesting!!! I got the chocolate ice cream gelato stuff and it was delicious! You could taste the quality of the chocolate because it had the perfect flavor!! I also got the smallest cup but they topped it off so it was amazing!

To put it bluntly, this place is dangerous. The chocolate is delicious, to the point where: a) you won't be able to resist having another bite unless you have self-control (which I seem to have been born without); and b) all other chocolate (especially mass-produced, commercial stuff) will be ruined for you going forward. For the best experience, I'd recommend either the cookie butter bonbon (my favorite) or the raspberry bonbon (my fiance's favorite)!

(Also, the person at the counter was super cool and recognized the band on my hat, so they get bonus points for that!)

Delicious house made ice cream and sorbet. Beautiful looking chocolates, 12 for $30, which are also house made from raw beans. (These will be a gift so we haven't tried them yet.)

Finding dairy free gelato is hard enough but this place has not only one but two options they are incredible. Also the English style drinking chocolate was so rich and delicious

In the heart of Historic Occoquan is an enticing store front. With restored furniture on its front porch and a sign that reads "Named one of the 50 best chocolate shops in the country by Food and Wine magazine," you can't help but to walk in. Here's my experience:

1) Chocolate: For 11 years, Potomac Chocolate has made hand-crafted chocolate just south of Occoquan in Woodbridge, Virginia. The chocolatier's goal is to make quality bean-to-bar chocolates. They sell 5+ bars for around $9 each. Expect a different kind of bar. They are thinner than expected and come in packaging that looks more like a coffee bean bag. What I appreciate about Potomac Chocolate is they have a good mix of dark and milk chocolate. I bought the "Toasted Milk" bar and it was deliciously creamy!

2) Space: For having such a beautiful front porch, it's shockingly bare inside. There's a sterile counter and a wood table with brochures on it.

3) Gelato: I didn't order any, but it looked good and my friends later told me they love their gelato!

4) Price: $9 seems steep for chocolate, but keep in mind they are hand-crafted and artisanal chocolate. You pay for quality.

This award winning establishment makes handcrafted chocolates by taking raw cacao from Colombia and developing one of a kind creations.

The gelato was creamy and flavorful. I really enjoyed the vanilla bean gelato. It was the perfect snack for a gorgeous day along the Occoquan River
