Best and only choice for many materials and service. Relatively limited space for natural flagstone, but a decent range of types. Plenty of wood, loose stone and bark covers. Nice mulch and soil conditioner, shipped in, not locally sourced. Have not had to wait on workdays, but the tight space for loading and narrow driveway can be a problem at times.

Ordered gravel with the belt truck. It was so nice and easy the guy running it was amazing. When I ordered the gravel they told me how much the gravel would be and I had to rent the truck at 179 a hr. Only needing it to go about 20 minutes from their yard I didn't think it would be an issue, what they failed to tell me was the truck had to drive all the way to Alton to get the gravel. I ended up paying almost $600 for the truck alone when I talk to them about it they didn't seem to care very much and basically said it is what it is. So if you get gravel from them and want the belt truck be prepared to pay A LOT.

I was up from the bay area visiting a friend and his family and they have a mile long gravel road that was filled with dozens of large potholes. The Powell people were extremely helpful and very friendly. They recommended the correct gravel and were very accommodating to load my 1-year-old truck in a way that didn't damage it. We only had the one day as I was leaving the next day, and they understood and helped us load quickly and get back to our work. We eventually got four 1/2 yard loads and gradually filled the gravel pits. It's was a great experience, thanks.
