Publix is the best place to go grocery shopping. I'm handicapped and having someone to help me with my groceries to the cart and taking the motorized shopping cart back so it's not left outside in the summer so the seat is to hot to sit in and not left out in the rain so the seat is full of water. Some of the people open my driver's door after they are done loading the groceries. You do not know how helpful me not having to load the groceries at the store because more times than not I can get all my groceries inside in stead of only getting the cold and frozen items in the house and put away. But getting all of it in the house even if I can't put all of it away. It's in the house and can put the rest of the groceries away when I can.

Normally, I would give 5 stars and that is the reason I do most of my grocery shopping at Publix. Up until today customer service has always been excellent. Today I arrived at Publix at 1:15 pm. I went expressly to pick up a rotisserie chicken. However, there were none. There was a female employee that I attempted to get her attention but she pretended to not see me. I was the only customer there. But I was patient and did ask one of the male employees could he tell me when the rotisserie chickens would be available. He immediately said he would go back & check. He came back & advised they would be finished cooking in 15 minutes. I told him I would be back at that time. I had my year old grandson with me and we shopped for other items. At 1:30 pm I came back and waited for 10 more minutes. All the while the same female employee was running back and forth and did not acknowledge me standing there. I was still the only customer present. At about 1:45 I called out to her to get her attention and asked if she could tell me when the rotisserie chickens would be ready? She replied, “They are ready but it will take me a while to get them out.” I continued to be patient and the same male employee that had checked before came up to me & asked if he could help me. I told him I was waiting for a rotisserie chicken. He asked me what kind would I like and I replied the traditional. He went to the back and within a minute came out and handed me a bagged traditional rotisserie chicken. I told him thank you and asked for his name and he replied “Daniel.” I then asked for the female employees name and he said “Penney.” I commend Daniel as it appeared he was working in the sandwich section. I don’t know why but it was clear to me Penney did not want to provide me with the normal courtesy up to today that I have always been accustomed to at Publix.

Publix in Calera is overall a great place to shop! Everyone who works in the Grocery store is always & has always been so kind & helpful. It is always a pleasure to shop there. The employees really do go above & beyond to provide outstanding customer service! I also use their pharmacy for all of my prescriptions (which are a lot because I have a neurological disease & other disabling health conditions), my husband's & my 2 sons. I've ised them solely for at least 7 years now. The pharmacy provided exemplary customer service for the 1st 6 years+ but for the past several months or so, that very high level of customer service has begun to fall short in a few different ways. They're not terrible by any means or even close to that. I've not had any extremely bad issues with them. Just a good bit of inconveniences & some (NOT ALL) "not so great" attitudes from pharmacy employees. That's the ONLY reason I couldn't give 5 stars, unfortunately. But, YES, I absolutely recommend shopping at the Calera Publix! Definitely sign up for their free rewards program, get the app & make sure to virtually clip all the coupons before you make a grocery run! That savings program is stellar! I've saved SO MUCH money since they launched it! Honestly, with it, I now pay less & earn more rewards at Publix for the same groceries than I do at Wal-Mart WITH my Wal-Mart+ subscription! And even tho the pharmacy isn't as great as they used to be in a few ways, I would still recommend them for other reasons & because, as I mentioned, they're no where near being terrible at all.

5 starts for cashiers! The pharmacy deserves 1star. Called in prescription the morning before, they said it would be ready by noon tomorrow. I show up at 11:45 (the next day), they said, "it will be few more hours." So I leave, they they text me 30 minutes later to say prescription is ready .

The crab legs steamed with Cajun seasoning OMG!!! It’s sooooo yummy!!! Great deals for the seafood. Ask for Gloria she is super helpful. Always in a great mood! She will season them bad boys really well. Wish they did a seafood boil that would be amazing. But this is a nice alternative to help with the seafood boil cravings. LOL.

This store is always clean but sometimes the greeting is not there. It's as though they greet some and not others. Be genuine like the first day you opened. Greet everybody that enters your store. You never know what that person may be going through and your greeting just talked them out of doing something not so smart. You can hire me as a professional greeter.
