The best! Gigantic selection of foods, including International and bulk food sections! Plus health and beauty, summer fun, liquor, and cleaning items! Everything is always super clean.

I love that the store is employee owned.

In a world of big corporations that care more about profits than people, here in this beautiful small town is an incredible market working hard to bring fresh, delicious food and other needed items to the local community. That's a big deal!

A Masterclass in How to Drive Away Customers

My spouse and I had the profound misfortune of purchasing a rotisserie chicken and broccoli salad from Ray’s Food Place Deli in Mount Shasta. At 3:15 PM, every rotisserie chicken on display looked like it had been sitting out for at least six hours. Against our better judgment—but starving and out of town—we took the risk. Big mistake.

Their chicken tasted like pure neglect, as if they actively despised their customers. Every bite was a struggle to choke down, devoid of moisture, flavor, or even the most basic seasoning. As for the broccoli salad? Clearly, Ray’s has never heard of salt—or seasoning of any kind, for that matter.

This deli could teach a masterclass in how to kill a business. We visit this area frequently, but after this experience, we won’t be back. There’s no way we’re risking food poisoning on their watch. We’re just hoping we make it through the next 24 hours unscathed.

Avoid this place like the plague.

Ray’s Food Place is my go-to for groceries and snacks when I'm in Mount Shasta. They have ample parking. I'm always impressed by their international food selection - it adds a fun twist to my post-adventure meals. They are very expensive. They have a captive audience. Unless you were already going into Yreka it's really a matter of gas prices vs the high cost.

They have a really good selection of products for our small town some things are ,a little pricy but it's understandable because they have to make up for our location but overall I can always find what I need and a little extra . I appreciate we have the extra grocery store. And it's very convenient being able to grab a quick lunch of hot food selection.
