I went into Red Bird Produce just to check it out and not for anything specific. I ended up with some excellent dry goods (like gnocchi), apples, and plums.

The gnocchi couldn’t have been easier to cook and was perfect for a chicken gnocchi soup. I used the plums for a plum tart (it was worlds better with their plums than the plums I’ve used from chain grocery stores). Similarly, the apples made for a cinnamon apple oatmeal that was just that much better.

It’s great to be able to get farmer’s market quality goods outside of the weekends, in the morning, during the summer!

Red Bird produce had such a great variety of produce. The place has such a fun shopping experience and even a play area for kids while you shop. Was able to get Brussels, carrots, magic city mushrooms (lions mane, pink oyster and more) just before thanksgiving. All locally sourced produce and organic. Art by Melissa Shultz local Birmingham artist was displayed on the walls made for a fun shopping experience. Will be back for Walden teas, mushroom powder, and June coffee. Can’t wait to come back!

This little family owned grocery store has local produce, eggs, mushrooms, kombucha, honey, jewelry, candles, artwork, and more. This is such a pleasant place to shop! The owners are friendly, the prices are fair, and they have a sunny kids play corner. This is a convenient place to run in and grab ingredients as it has a small parking lot and street parking.

This is a fantastic oasis in an urban produce desert. The store offers a good variety of competitively priced, fresh produce, real bread and pastry from Bandit, some snacks, and beverages including hemp water. The friendly, knowledgeable owner is clearly driven by his community spirit and happy to help.

This is THE place in Bham to get fresh, local produce directly sourced from farmers. Red Bird is a beautiful store fill with plenty of pantry goods and other local products. We’ve needed a store like this in Birmingham for a long time and I’m so excited this produce shop is here.

Had a chance to visit Red Bird Produce yesterday. The store is lovely. For winter, there was a good supply of produce as well as products made in Alabama. Reception was very friendly and nice. Can’t wait for the other seasons to shop for some more fresh produce grown in Alabama.

It's so nice to have a place in the neighborhood where you can pop in and buy veggies for dinner. Nice selection, especially considering they're just starting out. I was happy with the price I paid and the quality of the produce. There's also coffee, kombucha and other beverages, cheeses, butter, pastries, and art. A great place!
