A favorite stop for my wife and myself during the spring, summer and fall. The roses are beautiful and the fragrance garden at the end is a delight for the senses. The garden has just undergone a redesign/refurbishment this spring (2024), though, and in the process has been stripped of its wisteria and other non-rose hanging/climbing plants, which we feel was a mistake. Despite this, the garden's new look and feel is quite pleasant.

I visited the Rose Garden in early summer for the Rose Festival. There was live music and food trucks. The roses were stunning and in perfect bloom. The layout and views made the atmosphere dreamlike for all ages. I'm looking forward to next year's festival.

Exceptional rose and perennial garden. One of the best gardens in the state. Adjoining arboretum should also be included. Don't miss spring bulbs all over Colonial Park.

An excellent garden! I think this is also called colonial park (?). So it will be nice if the reviews for both show that it is the same place.
This location is free and blossoms really well in the spring. In June it is very pretty and you can see some of the flowers blossoming!
The area is popular and there are a slot of scenic areas around the garden. People do not tend to picnic here or spend times longer than an hour so it is a good area to stop and visit during the day but it does not take up all the day.
Very lovely for taking pictures as well!

Fragrant front facade intoxicated and stays with you through a visit of sweeping hedges and climbing roses. Lovely addition of sound with new fountains and looking forward to the new cedar trailing and rope system for climbers. Enjoy watching this place evolve and grow. New views and refreshed vistas on diagonal planes in addition to new arbors. Refreshing pick me up.

We happened to visit on a day when the temperature topped 100 degrees. Despite this the grounds keeper was more than happy to chat and answer questions about the grounds and roses in general.
We will be back when the weather is a bit more cooperative. The first two weeks of June are rumored to be peak bloom!
