We had dinner and then breakfast the next morning. All the food was great, the staff were wonderful. Thursday night we were at Dons Cactus bar, adjoins to the restaurant, having drinks, I walked over and ordered my food to go, they brought it to me. Stayed at the motel across the street, came for breakfast and the young man who took our order was very nice. They food was really good. We will definitely be back!!

I'll be back. The taco salad that was being delivered to another table looked wonderful, so I ordered it. It was very good. The Salome Restaurant has a large menu and all the food I saw delivered looked very good. I look forward to trying more items. The folks working there took very good care of us. The price was reasonable.

Wish I lived closer, not 3 hours away. Found this off I-10 W/B toward LA. Great food. Busy for being 3 miles outside Salome. Friendly staff, expect the owners live above. Lots of rooms and tables. This looks like a hot spot for weekend entertainment. Outside eating too. Large parking area. We were here on a weekday lunch so only one dining room was in use. HINT: If coming W/B on I-10 use VIcksburg Road. Google will put you on Ave 75, a dirt road from I-10 to Salome, unless you like that. Did OK with our 2 WD jeep Cherokee. Not in wet weather though. E/B on I- 10 use US 60.

For the location (out in the middle of nowhere), the food is really very good. Everything else is questionable. The waitresses are surly and gruff (except maybe to the locals). The table I was seated at was dirty and they didn't notice or didn't care. And here's the thing. I tip pretty good (usually around 30%) and this was my second visit. They just don't care about visitors.
I'll be in the area for a month and will probably go back because of the good food. But I should probably get it to go.
