I have patronized Sam’s Italian Market for a few years now. I always get the grilled chicken Cesar salad. However, I will no longer patronized this company. Today, September 11, 2024 I purchased a grilled chicken Cesar salad for dinner. When I opened the large container I saw a spider on a piece of lettuce. As I examined the container, there were a plethora of spiders and other insects on the lid and on other pieces of lettuce. Some of the bugs were still alive, moving on the inside of the container lid. I assumed the lettuce was always thoroughly washed as standard protocol for a ready to eat salad, but there is obviously no quality control/assurance there. To say the salad was a health hazard would be an understatement. Never again!

South Philly quality Italian hoagies in the suburbs. Everything I've ordered has been great, but my favorite is "Sam's Deluxe" with everything on it. The top-quality mortadella and super thin-sliced sharp provolone make it an exceptional sandwich. I walk around and pick out Italian specialty groceries while they make my sandwich. Love that they have so many hard-to-find pasta shapes and lots of prepared cook-at-home dinners (like stuffed shells, lasagna, parmigiana, etc). Only one negative thing to say: sometimes I feel a little bit like the staff is judging my shopping choices, but it's easy to ignore them. Cashiers are always super friendly.

Although Sams food is usually good, the service is a deal breaker for me going forward. They forgot to put an item in my bag that I ordered. I called and said I will be back by 5:01 and was two blocks away, but they stated they wouldn’t stay Open past five for me to get the item. I then asked him to leave it outside if they locked the door and they said they couldn’t do that. It was like a nonhuman type response. I couldn’t believe it.

I love this deli however they cut the meat how they want to not how requested. My extra thin bologna is cut like oscar mayer and my chipped ham is sliced thin.
