San Carlos power produces no power. They buy it from real power companies, add a 100% markup. Their only job is to maintain the power lines which they don't do. Clearly they don't do that because you can drive down the 177 and see poles leaning over. Gee, I wonder why the poles fall over in a lite wind. They add extra costs for doing nothing. The most unreliable, high cost, fake power company. Not only is the cost high, but they must be too.

This is BY FAR the WORSE electric company!! They are expensive as he'll, they are very rude, and they don't care about nothing!! Don't expect understanding during hard times, they will shut you off on the hottest day of the summer or the coldest days in the winter!! There are ALWAYS power outages. I paid 1300 and they still kept my power off over the weekend, meanwhile I've explained to them that I have a sick baby at home that requires the use of a machine that requires electricity. THEY CAN CARE LESS!! Now we are at the hospital for the weekend for my baby. I have four children and my house is at 60 degrees, and they are closed over the weekends! It's sickening.

This company lied to us. We were making payments and was told we can do that and we're OK and not getting shut off. We'll that was a lie. They don't that. They make lies up as they go. No one is on the same page and they do stuff illegally. How can we be making payments when apparently don't do that? Also our water is nasty, it's cloudy almost looks like milk. They constantly have water main breaks and stuff gets into the water that's not supposed to be there like poop.

Worst power company i have ever had. Power is constantly going out for hours at a time for NO reason. There isnt even any weather going on and it has gone out almost every day this week. I pay my bill early every month. If you try to call to find out why the power is out, noone answers, or it hangs up on you, and occasionally like twice a year out of the million times it goes out, a guy answers who is very rude, and will also hang up on you. Get it together. We pay early and on time to sit in our hot houses with zero information on what is happening. Absolutely ridiculous.

Enjoy paying outrageous prices for power that barely works, drops out with a breeze or a bird landing on a line, and that'll leave you sweating in your house for hours at a time during their frequent blackouts, with no real recourse for damaged appliances and food spoilage? These guys are the power company for you. These guys will charge you an arm and a leg and leave you hanging every time.

Want updates on when the power will be back on? Too bad! Want a refund for the hours and hours that you spend in sweltering heat in your own home with absolutely no idea as to when the power will come back on? Take a hike! That stuff is for professionals, not for a two bit, federal run disaster that should have been retired in the 60s!

Want an incentive to get on solar and perhaps help with the shoddy power this poor excuse of a utility provides? Forget about it, although, they are happy to take the excess generation from your solar system, and pay you absolutely NOTHING in return! That's right, you make power for them, and they pay you nothing! Truly a standard model of how our federal government treats us!

All joking aside, of all of the utilities I have had, this is the worst one I have ever seen, anywhere. I'm going out of pocket ~$70K just to put in a reliable solar system that will hopefully be enough to keep me off of this absolute joke of a grid. Stay away if you can.

Rating this company even 1 star is being extremely generous. No consistency and nobody ever answers the phone, unless you’re making a payment of course, then they are happy to help you. Outages at least every other week(while the outside temperature is 100°+), if not more often than that and rarely do you ever get an update on what is happening. I’ve had more outages with them in the past 6 months than with my 8 years of business with APS electric, do not recommend San Carlos at all. If you can switch to anything else, I would definitely do it.

Absolutely disgraceful. For a company that supplies power to several cities in the area, you'd expect exponentially more. Their infrastructure, reliability, and customer service are all abyssmal. Just had an outage this evening that lasted several hours and has still not been resolved. I have called in about 10 times, all my calls have been hung up on. No updates on outages, no client communication, charges on my bill without any reason. Outages minimum once a week. I don't know how a company this terrible is allowed to stay in business.
