After one year in our house, Schmidbauer has still not corrected our two window situations. We paid for the windows, but the wrong windows were installed. The window for our boy's bathroom, which is supposed to be privacy glass, is not privacy glass. The front of house window grid situation looks ridiculous.

Schmidbauer lumber is the best stocked retail yard in the area . Great costumer service, deliveries on time and drivers always helpful and courteous. Since Mike took over the yard many customer service improvements. Staff inside and outside always helpful.

Schmidbauer's customer service in their lumber department is not good. It's hard to find anyone to help and when someone did come around they were very rude and not very helpful. I was looking for their 2x4 pre primed cedar trim (nothing was labeled and there were no signs) and one of the guys said that he would help me but then left me standing for almost 10 minutes before coming around and then showed me the wrong product as he rudely insisted that i said 2x10. When he showed me the 2x4, he asked me as though not to be bothered "are you going to get it or do you want me to help". Having had enough of his rudeness, I just said that I would get it. He then left me to poke through the stack stepping over other loose piles of lumber. This is the way that Shmidbauer used to be run and I thought that they had changed.

Ordered 40 bags of concrete with delivery…. Guy gets here with his truck and parks face first in my driveway. Asked if I had any help to unload the concrete — who doesn’t have a pallet Jack these days for that stuff?

Felt bad so I helped the guy— me being a mid 20’s female, diabetic — lifting 40 bags of 60# loaded onto a truck parked eye level to me— it wasn’t comfortable. I complained and the worker said “Well most people know what they’re getting into when they order from us” — and what is that? Being expected to unload my concrete order by hand?

Out of touch with their customers and I can’t imagine the employees find their method of delivery to be the smartest one….

Never again. Order from Ace or Home Depot and you won’t have to touch a bag of concrete when it’s delivered.

Google doesn't know where the entrance of this place. The driveway entrance is on waterfront drive, south of the railroad crossing. Keep to the left or else you'll accidentally drive into the loading yard.
