I don’t usually leave reviews, but my stay at Shore Acres last fall was so awful I feel obligated to warn others. The property advertises lakefront views, but our room looked out over a parking lot. It was stiflingly hot, reeked of stale cigarette smoke, and—most disgustingly—had bugs crawling in the sheets. When I reported this, the front desk staff were dismissive and evasive, clearly trying to dodge accountability. A woman who claimed to be a manager—Pammy or Tammy—was especially rude and condescending, refusing to acknowledge the severity of the issue.||They reluctantly moved us to a different room down the road, which, while free of bugs, was a blatant downgrade from what we had paid for. The linens were stained, the room was poorly cleaned, and it was clear the basic standards of hygiene weren’t being met. Adding insult to injury, they refused to refund the price difference, even after admitting the rooms were not equivalent.||This place is an overpriced, mismanaged mess. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else.

We had reservations on a Fri night, got a table near the window with a fantastic view of Lake Champlain. Drinks outside first sitting in the Adirondack chairs was great. Dinner was excellent. The menu has something for everyone, service was super. I had mussels and a Caesar salad, both were great. The wine list is very good. Highly recommended!

Just had a wonderful 2 nights at Shore Acres, 3rd time staying there. Rooms are great and the location is superb. This year they added appetizers outside which we took advantage of and loved. The main restaurant is fantastic, would love it if they had outside dining other than Bravo Zulu which is okay pub food.

As a local resident, I reserved a room for 2 nights for 2 guests traveling up from TN to have a stopover with easy access and a lake view . I let the establishment know that plans could change. I was not informed that a "hold deposit" was non refundable They did and I let them know immediately when I found out. Through email, I learned I had been charged $283.89 plus a cancellation fee. Contacted them to ask if the money they had pocketed could be put toward a meal there and they said no. In addition, the food is overpriced and not very good anyway. Living in a small town, locals agree that this is not acceptable and agree to boycott this "charming spot" on Lake Champlain and have not been impressed by the atmosphere as well. Do not recommend

This inn is in a beautiful setting. The rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable. They have birdfeeders all over the grounds and all kinds of activities available. There are two restaurants, both very good. We used the inn as a base for a bike ride, biking from Burlington to here, then from here to another island, and then back to Burlington. If you enjoy biking, I highly recommend it.

What a fabulous dinner!! We did not have reservations and were fortunate to be able to be seated. It was the end of September, but, they get busy. Great view to Lake Champlain! Server was excellent - attentive and efficient. She kindly kept my water glass filled. Bacon wrapped scallops as an appetizer, fish chowder was a special, and I opted for sauteed salmon with rice. All were excellent, as was the bread. Dessert special was a very tasty (I forgot its name - fancy name) chocolate mousse/pudding with delicious dollop of 'real' whipped cream on top. We were with a friend/business colleague from CA (an original New Englander) and the icing on the cake was the Harvest Moon outside. Thanks for the great experience.

We love the view of Lake Champlain while we enjoy the best food. Our staff was very attentive and offered suggestions and explanations as requested. We had a larger party, but nothing was compromised due to the size.

I enjoyed the Ahi Tuna special, and for an appetizer, I had the very unusual goat cheese creme Brule salad. Both were so good!! Others in our party had the glazed duck breast, cod, salmon special, prime rib, and the Apple Island chicken. Everyone raved bout th food. The house salad was big enough to share and still have plenty. My husband had crab cakes for appetizer. They were awesome-more crab than cake.

We have been to Shore Acres before and it never disappoints! The bar tender had some great cocktail including a purple Marlin. The Maple Manhattan or Maple Old Fashion were made with smoked maple Bourbon.

I would highly recommend Shore Acres Restaurant.

I brought my mom here for a special dinner and we had a wonderful time. The service was friendly, attentive and very professional. The food was delicious. I had a fish that was shipped in from Hawaii, which was beautifully prepared and presented. My mom had duck cooked to perfection. The staff knows how to make your evening special, and we were very impressed. Hands-down one of the best places in the islands. Every seat in the dining room has a beautiful view.
