This is one my favorite smaller Farmers Markets along the entire Central Coast. There are typically several vendors year round, and they generally have the basics, plus seasonal goodies. For example, even in Jan., a smooth variety of Avocados come into season. They generally have fruit, veggies, baked goods, and more. Even though it is really in the middle of town, mostly only locals know about it....thus few tourists come by. Since it is in front of the Farm Supply Store, that adds to the local ambiance. What is nice is that if you do not already know some of the farmers and vendors from their often many other FM appearances, this is a great chance to get to these great people better, and get details and tips about all sorts of things. It is such a pleasant and relaxed experience, that is totally different than the more hectic crowded FM's where people are in long lines. In general, there are really no lines here, and even if there is one person in front of you....you can generally strike up a conversation with someone else.

The farmers come from Cambria to AG to Central Valley, so one gets a diverse sampling of goodies.

Before or after grabbing some essentials here, one can easily add to one's haul, by hitting TJ's afterwards. If one is hungry, then the many eats at SLO Public Market is just down the road about a block or two.
