The restaurant was packed…it took 30 min for us to finally get the seat. The to-go line was horrible as well…
Tried the veggie sandwich - it said sour dough bread but sour dough bread was horrible, felt stale. Fries were good.
Got the Danish combination plate as well - had a sausage, mashed potatoes, Cauliflower (was good) and meatball (not good), boiled veggies and soup (was good).
Also got the Abel-skiver sweet dish with ice cream - was okay as well.
Vibe was good, service was ok.

The kind man in the Solvang visitor center mentioned that Solvang restaurant serves Danish ball-looking pancakes and since I am a big sweet tooth, I couldn’t resist checking it out.

Food: 5/5
We ordered classic Aebleskiver - aka Danish Pancake Balls. The texture was exactly what pancake feels like, soft, fluffy and moist. It came topped with raspberry jam and powdered sugar, which sounds like very sweet but it wasn’t. I personally liked it a lot and it was nice to enjoy with some warm tea.

Presentation: 4.7/5
It was simply plated without anything special - felt like in grandma’s house.

Service: 4/5
Service was fast, but our server was not too welcoming.

Atmosphere: 5/5
It felt like a cute little diner with Danish vibes.

Value: 5/5
The plate with 3 pancake balls was priced at $5.25. Very fair price and good value!

Long wait — around 40 minutes — but the hostess and our server were super sweet.

The danish combination (meatball, sausage, pickled red cabbage, gravy, and boiled veggies) was delicious and next time I’d get it again and split it in half with someone else. I liked the meatball slightly more but the sausage was really tender and flavorful and there the same price.

The split pea soup with smoked ham was REALLY good and you could taste the smoked ham flavor in it so I recommend getting that as your side, although it is a little on the heavier side because of how thick it is.

The hash browns were also decent, the Breakfast Special is simple and straightforward but nothing too special.

I wasn’t a fan of the aebleskivers (“able skeevers”), I’ve had the frozen ones from Trader Joe’s before and those tasted better. These ones were too pancake fluffy and flavorless but most people like fluffy as opposed to crispy / thinner pancakes.

We visited Solving today, and found this traditional Danish restaurant. There were quite a few guests waiting in line. Inside the restaurant you could see very Danish style decorations. The food was very delicious. The service could be better, maybe from short of staffing. Highly recommend.

A local favorite! Located in the middle of town, surrounded by shops and treats. Was there for breakfast and not disappointed. Food delivered hot and fairly quickly. Staff very friendly and helpful. Best Aebleskiver’s in town!!

Very unappetizing breakfast. Every meal we ordered was a huge let down. Felt premade and reheated. Overcooked omelet and the bacon was hard. Hashbrowns hard. Steak was like chicken cutlet? Very confused there. Very expensive and the server put an auto gratuity for 6 people when two of the group were infant/toddler. Such a busy place as it feels like it’s the main breakfast joint in town. We were kicking ourselves after we saw the natural grocery store up the road wishing we had eaten a fresh and less expensive breakfast there. Staff was nice (especially taller woman running the front entrance), but they really need to make improvements to their breakfast. Also showing the danish pancake we ordered. Not too bad.

I came to Solvang for the day with my wife. Drove over 2hrs to get here. We left early in the morning so we could have breakfast here. We haven't been here before. So we parked a few blocks away and walked here to work up our appetite . We ordered the Abeleskiver which is a kind of dough ball baked and covered with powdered sugar and lay on a bed of jam. My wife and I shared the Chicken and Waffles and there was plenty of food for both of us and their coffee was outstanding also. Sorry no pictures of the Chicken and Waffles (we were very hungry and forgot to take a picture) . We took the leftover chicken that we couldn't finish with breakfast and had it for lunch mmmmmmmm 😋. The Chicken was some of the best chicken that I have ever had and the Waffle was also outstanding. You won't be sorry you ate here. Everyone that works here is very professional and polite. You won't be sorry you ate here. This will be our breakfast spot every time we come to Solvang
