You usually hear the saying “best x food on the ISLAND”, which sometimes yields disappointment; but, for this particular restaurant I think it charts easily for serving some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had.

If you are in Northshore, make sure to stop here and order food! Parking might be a bit tight due to how popular the food truck spot is; but, it’s easily worth it for just how fresh, fulfilling, and flavorful the food is. The atmosphere around the truck is picturesque and calming.

Moreover, the front and back workers are great and the mascot dog is very friendly! If you sit behind the trailer / on the side opposite of the order terminal, you can even enjoy the playful Spanish kitchen banter.

We spent a day exploring the North Shore area of Oahu and came across Surf N Salsa. This is a permanent food truck in a courtyard with some others, serving basic Mexican inspired fare such as tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. There is outdoor seating in a small courtyard in front of the establishment, and limited parking available.
We ordered a burrito, rice, and fries and were happy with the food quality. The burrito was freshly made and the ingredients had a good flavor. The rice was fairly standard, no spice and a more subtle Mexican taste. We got a large order of fries and they were hot, crispy and a lot of them! Check the photo but it filled up a carry out container, this was more than we could both eat and we ended up tossing some out (that we didn’t feed to the birds 🙂).
We had a nice lunch and would definitely go back if we had the opportunity.

Very generous portions! Tacos are highly recommended. I got soyrizo crunchy tacos with guacamole. The soyrizo added a great flavor and all condiments complimented each other without being too much. The crunchy tacos shell was outstanding. Cute atmosphere as well. 5 stars from all members of my party!

It’s a great casual, yet stylish and pleasant looking place with incredible modern Mexican food. Fish and shrimp tacos are fresh and perfect. Jamaica beverage is excellent. I always look forward to stopping by here.

Parking is limited but there were a couple spots left when we arrived.
Good chicken tacos and California burrito.
The kids liked the sodas. No high fructose corn syrup only good old sugar.
Walk around the back of the food truck to sit with a nicer view.

So glad to finally make it to North Shore! All I did was put shrimp tacos in my google maps and Surf N Salsa had the best reviews so we tried it and it was beyond our expectations.

The location was so so cute! Very picture worthy. We got there early at 11am and that perfect to get parking and by the time we left the lot was full.

I had the shrimp taco plate with refried beans and rice and I loved the beans and rice almost as much as the shrimp!

My friend got the fish tacos and love that as well!

Everyone who worked there was so so nice as well!

Would definitely come back! There was also a great coffee shop ( Birds Nest) across the street and very cute shops within walking distance distance.

Yoooooo I got the enchilada style chipotle al pastor burrito with red sauce. 🔥 Straight smackin. Wife grabbed the surf and turf taco salad both of us were super impressed and we come from San Jose, CA where the Mexican food is all really good. But y'all did that fasho fasho.
