It's more like an exclusive izakaya than a sushi bar in service style. This is a two person operation, so be patient, and you will be rewarded. There is a sushi counter where the chef is doing his wonderful manipulations. The sushi rice is some of the best flavored I have had outside Japan. The dining room and decor are very nice. The fish is almost all imported from Japan and is fresh and delicious! I had my favorite dish, Chirashi. The bowl of rice came with spicy tuna and salmon roe on top. The Sashimi was served on a separate plate and was bountiful as well as beautiful. My wife had a tempura upon and the tempura was excellent. When you get there, you need to sign in on the iPad out front and sit and wait outside until they come get you. At times there is a wait because it is small and popular. But it's worth the wait.

Celebrated post-family wedding ceremony with their private Omakase experience. One of the best omakases I’ve ever had — every bite was high quality, well curated and extremely intentional with thorough explanations of the fish, flavors, sourcing, preparation and unique facts. Above and beyond service, accommodated gluten-free needs expertly without sacrificing on experience. I will never return to the Big Island without a stop planned here again, truly amazing team, chef and special experience.

We're so happy that we found this hidden gem, this is one of the best sushi & omakase places we've ever had, all the fish are extremely fresh, the tempuras are amazing, the homemade tofu is just chef's kiss. What's more, the price is very reasonable. We'll certainly come back whenever we visit the big island!

We found this great cozy, little restaurant last year while visiting Big Island. So happy we ate here...and came back a couple more times for lunch AND dinner! This year we're back and have already been there for lunch and dinner several times. We also booked the Saturday Omikase last year when we were here.

It's a two person (Etsuko and Sushi Chef Haruki) operation and everything is fresh, authentic and so tasty, so it takes a little time to come out.

They don't take reservations so you will more than likely have to wait to get a table. Just use the iPad to enter your reservation request and then you receive a text letting you know approximately how long your wait is for dinner. When your table is ready, you receive another text to come in to the restaurant. Because they literally cater to each group coming in for dinner, it takes time for preparation so please be patient!!

WARNING: If you come later you risk the chance of them running out of their daily fresh food. Once they're sold out of food, they close for the evening.

The ambience is fantastic. You can actually have a conversation with your dining party and not have to yell across the table over blaring loud music.

Our favourites are the Mixed Tempura Udon (broth is light and so tasty) and Laulea Chirashi. Every dish is artfully presented by Chef Haruki. This is a hidden gem but won't be for long!!

Every saturday you have the chance to enjoy omakase at the Chef’s choice, an extraordinary experience we can highly recommend. Best sushi we have ever eaten, fresh flown in from Japan in the morning. We had a wonderful time thanks to the wonderful team. We will come back for more!

What a precious gem! The two owners were incredibly welcoming and kind. My husband and I drove up all the way from Kona to visit Waimea and have lunch here. The fish was fresh and delicious and the atmosphere was lovely. Try the Chutoro!!

Very pleasant atmosphere here. Small, but really clean restaurant. Because it is small restaurant you might need to wait. Fresh and tasty sushi. Awesome squash salad and miso salad.
