Forever grateful to Deena, Rob and the Sweet Roots team for bringing our floral vision to life for our big day! Everything came to life better than we could have ever imagined! Working with Deena was a dream - she listened, was so thoughtful in her suggestions, and I never felt pressured to increase my budget or add more than I felt comfortable with. I wore an intricate dress with colorful embroidered flowers, which I was worried would make our floral arrangements a challenge, but she exceeded our expectations and matched the vibe perfectly. It was also important to me that we worked with sustainable vendors for our wedding, and Rob was incredibly patient with answering all my questions during our farm tour. Working with Deena and Sweet Roots Farm was a truly wonderful experience. She was kind, beyond accommodating of our needs as a queer/trans wedding with lots of queer/trans participants, and we loved the chance to work with a farm. Deena was also super accessible before, during, and after the wedding for delivery and pick up as we coordinated some unexpected last minute changes in our getting ready venue -- which we definitely appreciated!

The craftsmanship and vision she brought to the final product was beyond what we could have imagined! We can't thank Sweet Roots enough for helping bring our day to glorious, fall-colored life. We were showered in floral-related compliments by our guests and family (and by the staff at our post-wedding brunch, many of whom snagged some flowers to take home!).

Deena and her team at Sweet Roots Farm are amazing. First, Deena is likely the sweetest person on the planet. From the minute we spoke over the phone we were all in! Her passions for sustainable farming and floral arranging are inspiring. Our wedding was held at the Holbrooke Hotel in Grass Valley, and we wanted the florals to be front and center! Deena and her team 1000% delivered. They installed a beautiful arch in front of the Purcell Carriage house that lives in my mind rent free. Deena even foraged some golden fern on the way back from another wedding and incorporated it into the bouquets and arch. The perfect addition to our autumnal palette. She and her team worked tirelessly executing our vision, and we couldn’t be more grateful. After the event, our flowers were donated to various hospice and long-term care facilities so they could continue to bring joy to those that need it most. I can’t wait to work with Deena again, her work is true art. Thank you Sweet Roots!

We took advantage of her offer to visit her on her farm and got to see and, with her help, choose the flowers that we wanted. She built on the initial vision that we had and created the most amazing florals.

We and our guests were in awe of the beauty and artistry of every arrangement, from the breathtaking Chuppa, to the most unusual and beautiful boutonnieres anyone had ever seen. Each one of the centerpieces, whether the greenery or the florals, was perfect.  Even the arrangement in the bathroom was unparalleled.

I knew I wanted Deena to design my wedding flowers and floral installations since seeing her work at my best friend’s wedding four years ago. I already knew she had incredible talent, but I was immediately struck by her warmth, enthusiasm, and genuine interest during our first phone call and the many that followed. Although my wedding was almost a year away she immediately jumped in headfirst with all my ideas, helping me with months of back and forth to hone my vision from across the country. Anytime I decided I wanted to change something (“more texture” and “pops of mustard” became our rallying cry) she was so accommodating. Deena introduced me to many creative options I hadn’t considered, and we were able to geek out together over all the cool flora that exists on her farm. I’m a bit of a flower freak, and I found a kindred spirit in Deena. Her passion for flowers and weddings really shows, and just makes the planning process so much fun! Not only was Deena wonderful to work with, but she really went above and beyond to make my vision a reality. She even planted new species that I was hoping to incorporate, and when I mentioned I was trying to find someone local to play piano for my processional, she got me in touch with her brother-in-law who was lovely to work with as well. I could tell the florals were going to be everything I had envisioned since Deena really listened and considered all the design elements I wanted to highlight (figs, my mustard yellow shoes, and romantic wild vibes) with a designer’s eye for the venue space. She also worked with our budget, offering “bulk blooms” in the same vein as all the flower arrangements she was handling so I could economically add more flowers wherever they were needed. I had a lot of fun arranging a few vases and a wedding arbor for extra decoration with my wedding party the Thursday before the big day. It was a nice opportunity to bond with my friends in a creative space and to contribute personally to the wedding which was important for me. All the flowers the day of blew me away! My bouquet and flower comb were stunning, while the installations and table garlands were works of art. Deena also decorated my home-baked wedding cake and turned it from something that looked homemade into a vision. She is an amazing talent and a truly wonderful person, and I couldn’t be more grateful that I was able to have Sweet Roots Farm design the florals for such an important day.
