The Catus Dr. ,Adam Vickers, was originally referred to me by Master Gardeners from the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension. The Catus Dr has a college degree in the field. He has provided me with advice and services on the proper care and preservation of saguaros and other native plants. I'm immensely grateful to Adam Vickers, a.k.a The Cactus Dr, for he prevented unnecessary removal of Saguaros, arranged a move of a Saguaro, and has supplied and planted mature Ocotillo in my HOA. He regularly answers my questions/concerns on proper care of AZ iconic plants. I trust his knowledge.
In 2018 Saguaros in our HOA began to collapse. I wanted to know how I might act to prevent the collapse as the drought years continued in AZ. I looked out my windows at a garden that has been a testament to Arizona's natural beauty for over 40 years. See photo.
In 2018 The Catus Dr prevented the removal of a saguaro by the HOA maintenance crew: I asked for 24hrs to hire a professional to assess the plant. Adam Vickers arrived the next day. He advised how to determine if that saguaro was moving and explained the crack was common for saguaro. It was not oozing black fluid to suggest bacterial narcosis infection which can lead to death. He also recommended these established Saguaros, which had no irrigation, be watered every few weeks in AZ summer heat. He warned against overwatering. Thanks to his advice, cherished Saguaros still grace our community eight years later.
Also pictured is a spear that was moved from a residence yard to a common element. Care was taken to orient in same direction of original location and soil treated. Proper watering recommendation was given by the movers provided by the Cactus Dr.

I had a great experience with the Cactus Doctor. We lost a saguaro in the front and wanted an inspection on our even larger cactus in the back as it is close to a shed office.
Got some great advice to help keep that cactus healthy as well as watering recommendations for our smaller plants.

I contacted the Cactus doctor to re-locate an existing saguaro. They arrived per our appointment and did a very professional job ... carefully treating the root ball to avoid any infection. I would highly recommend them.

We had a large saquaro that was taller than the house and surrounded by a courtyard. It was sick and need we d to go before it fell on the house. The Cactus Doctor crew took it down safely and efficiently. All the mess was hauled away. They were very knowledgeable.

When my 20 ft Saguaro was struggling with the heat last summer I contacted the Cactus Doctor for advice. I appreciated their professional and sincere advice helping me to understand the disease as to why my saguaro was dying. Unfortunately it didn’t survive and I called the Cactus Doctor to remove the saguaro which was like a family member. I was very impressed with the dignity and professionalism in the removal and cleanup like it was never there. I also received advice regarding the root removal treatment and when to replant in that area. Awarding them 5 stars for their service.

Absolutely rude customer service… Have a beautiful older saguaro that is slowly dropping… Had absolutely no advice no service , would not even advise for help! I would not recommend! Have a house in Mesa and N Scottsdale with many neighbors needing help will not recommend them to anyone, multiple million dollar homes up in North Scottsdale needing help but I will not recommend Cactus Dr., unless someone can call me and rectified this! It is heartbreaking. I’m losing a beautiful saguaro that we’ve taken care of for so many years…
I have an Ocotillo that is so huge people drive by just to take pictures of Her wish I could save my saguaro but obviously this company won’t help!! So sad so disappointed
