The Hot Dogs are the best in the Nation! Homemade Chili, beef wieners, fresh buns and choice of slaw, kraut, onions as topping. Other sandwiches are also yummy. Glad I live in Tazewell!

Drove from Richlands Va to Tazwell Va and had the best deli meal at the Happy Goat. The deli sandwiches are stacked full of fresh cut Boars Head meat. Had a hot pastrami and a ham and cheese sandwiches. I also recommend a side of chili and a side of homemade potato salad. This is a great place, very clean and welcoming. Last but not least the staff, Joe and Janetta ( hope the spelling is correct) could not have been more gracious. What an enjoyable lunch. I moved to Virginia from Upstate New York and this place reminds me of a New York deli. I will be a returning customer. Update I did return and ate again at the Happy Goat during the taste of Appalachia.

I was in Tazewell last week visiting family, and my sister and I visited The Happy Goat for a delightful lunch. What a hometown treat! We went rather veggie this time - my sister had a lovely salad with chicken and I had the yummy avocado club (so good!) but next time, I really must have their Reuben. No wait....maybe the sliders? They have a varied menu with something for everyone, use superb ingredients and support local vendors for their products. The atmosphere was relaxed, comfortable, and welcoming and the staff were warm and friendly - just a great vibe all around. I'll be back on my next Tazewell visit!

Consistently great food! Always fresh and tasty. Nobody buy the desserts (I like them all for myself)….lol. Seriously good desserts! Love the soups, the pork sliders are amazing! The best carrot cake I’ve ever eaten!
