My wife and I visited Valhalla Board Game Cafe for their grand opening. We were very impressed by how well the staff handled such a large crowd. Board game selection is unmatched. Food was delicious and hearty. Coffee and espresso was outstanding - would highly recommend as a Starbucks replacement if you pass it on your commute. Highly recommend!

This past weekend we had the honor of checking out Valhalla Board Game Cafe grand opening. Most people that know me know I am not much of a board game player but will always join in and play some cool board games! I was mainly here to support friends and of course eat some food!

So Adam Valentine, the other co-owner, and his staff have been working hard getting this place ready and it definitely showed! I mean every last detail was covered. The art on the walls were spectacular as well as the decor and custom tables with their logo on it. They even have merchandise for you to check out and purchase. Easy 10/10.

The staff was amazing everyone was all smile, very helpful, and very quick. I didn't feel rushed or unwanted it was super welcoming. With all the people that were there they did a great job. Staff gets an easy 10/10.

Now I'm sure you guys want to know about the food that's what you're here for right? The food was very simple but very high quality. They were working with a limited menu for the opening so this menu may change or just have more options in general in the future.

I ordered the chicken sandwich it was kinda like a club sandwich (I don't remember the name of the sandwich sorry) it had cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and a huge pile of deli sliced chicken. Not to mention the super soft brioche sliced bread. Did I mention the meats and cheeses are all the Boar's Head products?! The sandwich was absolutely delicious the only thing I would have wished I could've had done was have the bread toasted. Other then that it gets a solid 8.9/10. You also get a pickle and a choice of chips baked or regular and your choice of different coffees, soda, or water.

I want to point out we also got a charcuterie board with lots of meats, cheese, fruits, and vegetables. It was really good of course just wish it was a easier way to get the deli meats of the scewers like tongs or something without everyone touching it with their hands when sharing it.

I really enjoyed my time here and plan to be back especially to try more stuff on that menu and play games of course! It was so fun and I encourage everyone to go check this place out and show these guys some support. They are located in the Campus No. 124 building.

This place is amazing! I host a D&D session here every week and the owner has ensured we will have a table. My group has had the charcuterie board twice and we plan to continue getting it every time, the cheeses and meats taste fresh and there’s a good assortment of crackers. I’ve personally tried the vanilla latte and it was delicious (don’t expect Starbucks but it’s still a solid latte). I’ve gotten the London Broil Roast Beef sandwich and the brioche bread was amazing, the sandwich was stacked with roast beef, lettuce, tomato, and the Valhalla sauce (which tastes like a mix of honey mustard and garlic aioli, it’s a must try).
Overall, I would recommend this cafe to anyone who enjoys tabletop games and great food.

These are the nicest people in town. The place is great, and the food has generous portions and quality ingredients at a great price. Get your D&D and ttrpg gear, board games, tea, Meade, or play poker on Tuesdays. This is a must for any geek in the Bham area.

We found this place waiting out the rain for a concert at the Oak Mountain Amphitheater. We play a lot of board games at home and enjoyed the wide selection of games they have. We definitely plan on coming back to play more.

Great coffee, great board game selection, and the food looks delicious (massive sandwiches!). Atmosphere is a wonderful, family friendly place and well equipped for parties, group outings, or just a casual night out to enjoy good company and play great games. It's clear a lot of thought went into this establishment and hope it becomes a local staple for decades.

LOVED this place. Only $10 per person for unlimited board game play, massive selection of games to play, local DND groups getting together here which is always wonderful to see, food was good as well!

Only thing that would make this place better is if they served booze, which I believe they are working on as of June 2024! Will definitely be back!

This is literally my favorite Neutral Space in Birmingham, full stop. I've made quite a few friends in the community despite only being in attendance for a month.
Note: Come on Mondays for MTG and Wednesdays for Board Games.
