We stayed 3 nights in the Pineapple Ohana cabin with the private hot tub, and it was wonderful!!! The location could not have been better for our Volcano adventures. The breakfasts were delicious, coffee was yummy, bed comfortable, room well stocked and staff so accommodating. After 26,000 steps crawling over every rock in the park our first day, the hot tub was epic and so worth it!!! The comfy robes provided were AWESOME. (My only feedback is to add a few more hooks to hang them up by the hot tub!) They even were able to call a masseuse for me and that was incredible too!

Since you are so close to the park, we were able to get into the park before the crowds during an eruption (March 11) and it was amazing!!!!

I would absolutely recommend these accommodations to anyone who wants to stay near the park.

My stay at Volcano Village Estates was magical! The property is a charming patch of rainforest with delightfully whimsical buildings. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the option of breakfast placed in the room refrigerator the night before is very convenient. The location made it easy to visit Volcano National Park and also drive into Hilo. The only difficulty I experienced was that my room was on the ground floor, and there were children staying on the floor above whose pounding feet woke me early in the morning. But that's the price of staying in a cozy wooden cottage, and I saw that some other buildings were only a single story tall, so they wouldn't have that drawback.

Volcano Village Estates exceeded our expectations. As hospitality veterans, my husband and I are very picky. For this visit. pre visit personalized email and text communication, and a warm and professional welcome from innkeeper John set the tone. The Rainbow Cottage we booked was spacious, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything we needed. The attention to detail was incredible - nothing was overlooked. Breakfast delivery the night before was a lovely touch, with delicious pancakes one day and breakfast burritos another day (accompanied by fresh fruit) - what a treat! We had a mini fridge and microwave and enjoyed being able to eat our breakfast on our own schedule. Our cottage was nestled in a very private rain forest type setting. John checked in on us every day, and we’ve never experienced such personalized service. We did not want to go home. Highly recommend!

The accommodations were beautiful, well kept up, and very clean. The Pele room is very modern and spacious. Each morning's breakfast included a warm, savory dish along with fresh fruit. The best part was that breakfast was delivered to the room and put in the fridge the day before, which allowed us to eat it whenever it fit our schedule. Most mornings, we left early for a day hike, so having that flexibility was very beneficial. The Innkeeper and staff were genuinely kind and very attentive. They reached out to us daily during our entire stay to see if we needed anything. Would definitely return to this property in the future!

My family of four ended our Big Island trip with a night at Volcano Village Estates in the Junior Suite and we all loved our stay! My kids (10 and 5) had a blast exploring the grounds and my husband and I appreciated the layout of the space (the queen bed is partitioned off from the daybed/trundle bed), as well as the beauty of the historic buildings and surroundings. It was great to be so close to the park, so we were able to get in before the crowds. And the breakfast was delicious!

The quiet and peaceful property offered a relaxing opportunity to start the year off on a great start. The room, Hina, felt like being in a magical rainforest cabin, safe and comfortable, with special touches like the warm mattress pad for the cooler evenings and the warm bathroom floors for chilly mornings. ||The staff were warm and friendly with greetings, any time of day, and the breakfasts were wonderful to be able to warm up at my convenience with 100% Kona coffee. ||Being less than a mile away from the National Park was ideal to easily visit at sunrise, for dinner and for awesome hikes. And the hot tub jacuzzi worked wonders on my weary muscles. ||I would recommend this place to anyone that visits Volcano, Hawaii, as an amazing home away from home that allows one time to pause, rejuvenate, and then enjoy all that Hawaii Island has to offer.

Had a lovely 2-night stay here. Rooms are clean and have luxurious touches such as heated tile and heated shower rods. The hot tubs were clean and functional and very nice to relax after a day of exploring Volcanos National Park. The location is 2 minutes from the park entrance and close to local food options.

We stayed at the Volcano Village Estates three nights from Oct. 15-18. We occupied one of the bungalow rooms. This was a fantastic place to stay and I would gladly go back in the future.

The room was clean and comfortable. We slept well there. You may not want to leave windows open at night because it can get very chilly.

The breakfasts that were provided each day were tasty. We were given a plate of fruit and an entree. I believe the three entrees we received were breakfast burritos, pancakes, and then quiche. There's a microwave in the room for reheating them.

The hot tub that's shared by the bungalow guests is large enough to accommodate a small crowd, but we were alone whenever we used it in the evenings. So it was a nice, romantic spot to cuddle and relax.

If you're in the area to visit Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, then this is a great place to stay during your visit. The park entrance is just a few minutes away down the highway, which makes it extremely convenient. We ran into town from the park every day for lunch and were able to return to our room to freshen up before heading out for more hiking.
