Beautiful place to take an amazing walk through an incredible area of Ohau. We walked up to the waterfall, I wish I would have brought my swimsuit so I could have jumped in the water. I highly recommend if you want to take a cool dip next to a waterfall you visit this place and take in all the scenery.

Really great preserve with plenty of activities. I really enjoyed all of the different flora in the valley as well. This is a great place to take photographs if you like nature photography.

Our trip to Waimea Valley was nothing short of amazing! The highlight was the stunning waterfall, though the water was a bit murky, but rest assured—it’s safe for swimming. Be prepared for a deep and tricky entry, but there’s a lifeguard on duty and life jackets provided for safety. One tip: bring cash, as they don’t accept electronic payments.

At the entrance, you’ll find a restaurant and a great gift shop with local treasures. The walk to the waterfall takes about 20 minutes, but if you’d prefer, there’s a shuttle for $10 each way.
Personally, I enjoyed the walk, and along the way, you’ll come across local crafts and trails that offer even more to explore if you have time. It’s a wonderful blend of nature and culture!

Wow what a stunning property! Staff were kind and helpful and the facility is great. The walk to the waterfall was manageable and gorgeous- with tons of flora and fauna to see and little paths and nooks to explore and take in. Wish I had known facilities were so thoughtful with bathrooms and changing rooms at the waterfall- I would’ve brought bathing suits for us to enjoy the water there! But still a great spot to explore. Also enjoyed seeing artisans and the traditional village set up. Highly recommend going first thing in the am as the traffic heading to Waimea when we left around 1130 was awful.

The water fall was great and cold. Do recommend. The hike was also very nice best 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Nice "hike" for families with kids. $25/non-military adult to get in and $25/kid. There was a crowd at the waterfall around 230pm. I suggest going much earlier like when they open to beat the crowd. I only saw 2 changing rooms and 1 shower outside to rinse off the dirty water. Wear bug spray as well if you plan to go up the trails. If you get too tired, there are shuttles for $10/pp.

Beautiful valley with plants, trees, and water falls. The past is paved and easy to walk. Can also swim in the falls but swim at your own risk as it can be full of bacteria.

Luau and park review here. They do everything they advertise. They do it phenomenally. The food is delicious, the entertainment is amazing, the location is gorgeous, the history is detailed, the access (good for several days if needed) is easy. Do it. Go. It's amazing. AMAZING.
